Jos Verbeek is an occupational health physician and epidemiologist. After a short period of practical work, he has mostly worked as a researcher. In the past fifteen years he has been the Coordinating Editor of the Cochrane Work Review Group and he has produced about 25 Cochrane reviews of occupational health topics such as interventions to decrease sitting at work and interventions to help people with depression to return to work. He has also participated as a methodologist in a number of World Health Organisation guideline projects including ‘Safely working with nanomaterials’ and ‘Environmental Noise’. His interests are in how to translate research findings into practical guidelines.
