Occupational skin diseases

The aim of the course is to provide the participants with detailed up-to-date knowledge of practical importance for clinical diagnostics, therapeutics, and prevention of occupational skin diseases. The course will cover the exposures and risk factors in different occupations, as well as the causative chemicals and other causes of these diseases, and contact allergy at large.

Course objectives

Epidemiology, mechanisms, causative agents, risk occupations, diagnostics, treatment and prevention of occupational skin diseases. The main focus is in numerous causes and diagnostics of occupational contact allergy.

Target group

Dermatologists, occupational physicians, chemists and other scientists working in the field of occupational dermatology. Maximum 50 participants (excluding the lecturers)

Course outline

Lectures, group discussions, work site visits, presentations of participants’ own problem cases (tentative). Lecturers of the course are present to guide the participants during the whole duration of the course.

Main topics

Mechanisms of allergic and irritant contact dermatitis, epidemiology of occupational skin diseases, diagnostics of occupational skin disease, causative agents of contact allergy, irritant contact dermatitis, prognosis and quality of life in hand dermatitis, prevention and treatment of occupational skin diseases

The price of the course consists of two parts:

1) The course fee of EUR 500 and

2) One of the following:

  • The day package I fee of EUR 590
  • The day package II fee of EUR 330

    Day package I

    The day package I price is 590 EUR/person. This price includes conference facilities and technical equipment, course material, coffees, lunches, the social program and dinner on Wednesday as well as dinners on Tuesday and Thursday.

    The total price of the course is EUR 1090 (course fee EUR 500 + day package fee EUR 590).

    We strongly encourage you to take part in the social program, as this is a vital part of the NIVA course experience. We believe in the power of networking (between people) and strive to create an inspiring possibility for that through the social program.

    Day package II

    The day package II price is 330 EUR/person. This price includes conference facilities and technical equipment, course material, coffees and lunches.

    The total price of the course is EUR 830 (course fee EUR 500 + day package fee EUR 330).

    Kindly note that the day package II does not include the social program nor the dinners.

  • Accommodation

    NIVA has made a block reservation for the accommodation 6th – 9th of September 2020 at Hotel Scandic Grand Marina, Helsinki, Finland. More information on how to book a room at the hotel will be available in September 2019.

    The room price for a single standard room is EUR 105/night (including breakfast).
