Understanding and Analysing Occupational Injury Data

Nordic countries have good national registers of occupational injuries which are rather poorly used for interpretation. The registers are based on insurance statistics. Interpretation and using of such data need some basic knowledge. Injury statistics should be included in annual reports of large companies and has since decades been a basis for understanding of the quality of safety in occupational settings.

This webinar will provide participants with a basic understanding of epidemiological methods for analysing register-based statistics, including sources of information and the interpretation of data, risks, and trends.

Subject background

The Nordic countries have good injury statistic, but the interpretation and use of the statistics could be improved. Such statistic is a basis of understanding risks in occupational settings. A basic knowledge of methods, sources and obstacles in interpretation of such data could be useful for many practitioners and users of such data.
