About this course

This course will help participants understand the consequences of pain for work ability, sickness absence and exit from working life.

The price of the course consists of the course fee of EUR 500
and the day package of choice.

Day package I

This package includes:

  • dinners and the social program on Tuesday.

Course objectives

The purpose of the course is to understand the consequences of pain for work ability, sickness absence and exit from working life.

This course has been accepted as a theoretical course (15 hours) demanded in the medical specialist education in the training programs of occupational health services, at the University of Helsinki in Finland. The acceptance is valid for the specialist training programs at the Faculty of Medicine of all Finnish universities

Subject background

Several factors in the work life increases the risk for evolving MSD, and for some workers, such pains can become chronic. In order to prevent and treat pain and long lasting pain, it is important to understand, identify and control the involved mechanisms.
