Strengthening cooperation through knowledge, data and shared experience

Work-related crime is a shared challenge across the Nordic and Baltic region. Increased labour mobility, cross-border business activities, and complex subcontracting chains create opportunities for undeclared work, social dumping, labour exploitation, and other forms of non-compliance.

Addressing these challenges requires close cooperation between authorities, researchers, and the social partners. As countries increasingly rely on inter-agency collaboration, data-driven approaches, and risk-based methods, there is a growing need to exchange experiences and identify common solutions.

Organised under the joint Danish and Faroese Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, this conference brings together stakeholders from across the Nordic and Baltic countries to explore how knowledge sharing, data, and cooperation can strengthen efforts to prevent and combat work-related crime. The programme includes contributions from researchers, public authorities, and social partners, as well as discussions on risk models, data use, and artificial intelligence (AI) in enforcement and prevention efforts.

The joint Danish and Faroese Presidency and Nordic Co-operation

Denmark and the Faroe Islands hold the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2026 under the programme Strong Ties in Changing Times. The Presidency focuses on strengthening Nordic co-operation in response to shared challenges and changing global circumstances. Key priorities include societal security, competitiveness, preparedness, the green transition, and efforts to combat cross-border crime.

This conference contributes to the Presidency’s ambition to strengthen cooperation across the Nordic and Baltic region by promoting the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and data in efforts to prevent and combat work-related crime.

Nordic co-operation is one of the world’s most extensive forms of regional collaboration, involving Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. Guided by Vision 2030, the Nordic countries work together to make the Nordic Region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.
