Relevance to work environment or working conditions
Our focus areas cover a wide range of topics related to occupational health and safety:

  • Chemical work environments
  • Safety and accident prevention
  • Emerging technologies, such as digitalisation and AI

  • Safety culture and chemical risk management
  • Work-related crime

Relevance and Criteria Supporting a Sustainable Nordic Labour Market

In line with the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Vision 2030 and priorities for 2025–2030, it is desirable that the course contributes to at least one of the following criteria supporting a sustainable Nordic labour market:

  • Promote a healthy working environment amidst the rise of hybrid working, flexible contracts, and extended careers.
  • Deepen understanding of psychosocial and organisational challenges.
  • Investigate opportunities and challenges of digitalisation, including the application of artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Strengthen strategies to prevent workplace illnesses, injuries, fatalities, and unacceptable conditions.
  • Promote a green and digital transition in the labour market, both within and beyond the major cities of the Nordic Region.
  • Enhance equal treatment and equality in the labour market to fully utilise the Nordic Region’s workforce, regardless of gender, identity, ethnicity, beliefs, disability, orientation, or age.
  • Strengthen initiatives to combat cross-border work-related criminality and social dumping, partly through Nordic-Baltic collaboration on work-related crime.

Course formats

On-site: courses and seminars
NIVA’s on-site courses and seminars are organised in a Nordic city and typically last between one and three days, depending on the event format.

On-site courses and seminars provide valuable opportunities for face-to-face networking, promoting the sharing of knowledge and ideas. While on-site events may require a greater commitment from participants in terms of course costs and time, they offer the opportunity for deeper interactions and discussions among participants.

Our on-site events attract around 20 to 40 participants, primarily from the Nordic region.

Online: webinars
NIVA’s webinars are short online events, typically lasting between one and five hours.

They usually consist of a lecture combined with some interaction with participants. While networking opportunities are much more limited compared to on-site events, webinars offer a convenient and accessible way to gain insights on specific topics. Additionally, a series of webinars can be arranged if a deeper approach to the subject is preferred.

The number of participants taking part in our webinars can be up to 100 or more.

Hybrid
Hybrid events combine the benefits of on-site and online participation, allowing attendees to join either in person or remotely. This format is useful when aiming to reduce costs or when a follow-up webinar is beneficial after a course. Hybrid events are also a good alternative when wishing to share parts of the event content with a wider audience.
