Meet the winners of the Embla Nordic food awards!

The winners of the 2021 Embla awards were announced during a live awards ceremony at DogA in Oslo on Monday night. There have been a record number of nominations for the 2021 Embla awards and the jury has selected the winners based on criteria such as sustainability, inspiration, originality, honesty, and Nordic identity. The emphasis of the seven prize categories is ingredients, artisanal craft, communication, and people involved in the Nordic food culture.
The Embla awards were launched in 2017 by six Nordic agricultural organisations with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers to create awareness and spread knowledge about Nordic food.
Norway and Denmark each win three prizes
Norway and Denmark won six Embla awards in a total of seven prize categories. Competition was tough, with up to seven nominations in each category.

Nordic Food Entrepreneur 2021: Andreas Sundgren, Brännland Cider, Sweden
Nordic Food Artisan 2021: Undredal stølsysteri, Norway
Nordic Food Communicator 2021: Det Grønne Museum, Denmark
Nordic Food for Many 2021: The Junk Food Project, Denmark
Nordic Food Destination 2021: Kvitnes gård, Norway
Nordic Food for Children and Young People 2021: Geitmyra Credo, Norway
About the Embla awards
Six Nordic agricultural organisations are behind the Embla awards, which are partly funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers as part of the New Nordic Food programme. The aim is to promote Nordic food culture and increase interest outside the Nordic Region.
The Embla awards are given out every other year. National juries in each country nominate candidates in the various categories and a Nordic jury selects the final winners.
