About this course

Which main activities do you have at work? How long time do you work in non-neutral and potential harmful postures? Self-reported assessments of physical demands are mainly too vague, often it is necessary to improve precision.

This course presents technical methods for assessment of physical activities and bodily postures, mainly for the use at the workplace. The course will present background of methods, theory, selection of approach and how to use systems as well as interpretation of results. Examples will be given and participants will get experience from hands-on exercises in use of the equipment.

Subject background

Assessment of physical (mechanical) exposures (activities and postures) by technical systems has been shown to be more precise than self-reported assessment. The measurement possibilities, price, availability, robustness and user-friendliness of technical systems have been improved extensively during recent years. This make it possible to do advanced measurements, not only by researchers but also practitioners.
