About this course
This international course focuses on new approaches in occupational safety management and practice. The main topic is promoting knowledge-based safety management and proactive detection of safety hazards in the framework of Vision Zero.
The course will bring together occupational safety specialists and managers from workplaces with academic specialists and authorities. It will give the participants insight of new data-based possibilities to promote occupational safety and to take safety management to the next level.

The price of the course consists of the course fee of EUR 500
and the day package of choice.
Day package I
This package includes:
- conference facilities and technical equipment
- course material
- coffees, lunches
- dinners and the social program on Wednesday.
We strongly encourage you to take part in the social program, as this is a vital part of the NIVA course experience. We believe in the power of networking (between people) and strive to create an inspiring possibility for that through the social program.
The total price of the course is EUR 920 (course fee EUR 500 + day package fee I EUR 420).
Day package II
This package includes:
- conference facilities and technical equipment
- course material
- coffees and lunches.
Kindly note that the day package II does not include dinners nor the social program.
The total price of the course is EUR 730 (course fee EUR 500 + day package fee II EUR 230).

NIVA has made a block reservation for the accommodation 8-10 of November 2022 at Hanaholmen Conference Hotel.

The room price for a single standard room is EUR 122/night (including breakfast).

Course objectives
The objectives of this course are to:
- give participants insight and tools to promote knowledge based proactive occupational safety management and promotion as well as to produce information to support decision making (such as safety investments and other actions).
- cover different perspectives of Vision Zero and discuss how it can be utilized in promoting continuous improvement of safety.
- discuss what possibilities and new scenarios digitalization and data science (incl. artificial intelligence, AI) can give to occupational safety and health.
- give participants insight in new approaches to analyse data effectively and trustworthy.
- discuss how to find and detect silent signals by linking different data to safety data (such as HR, process, management, and health data).
- give participants up-to-date information on accident prevention and on success factors in safety promotion. Special attention is given on the proportion of human factors approach and practical tools in promoting safety.

The courses and workshops vary in price. Please note that the course fee does not cover meals or accommodation. The course fee and day-package fee are invoiced after the registration deadline.
